Introduction
When you arrive in Ostend you will be pleasantly surprised by the town's openness, ease of access and the facilities it offers. Arriving by boat or train brings you almost to the center of the town. If you are a visitor coming by car , inevitably you will almost certainly end up near the Railway Station. There are parking lots all over the town at reasonable rates. Restaurants, Tearooms and hotels are in the immidiate vicinity at arrival. Regular visitors will have noticed the changes in infrastucture and general outlook executed over the past years and still are.
The town is modernising and adapting rapidly to the demands of present day social, cultural and economic demands. But let us take a quick tour of the town together.
Whether you are arriving by boat or by train, they both bring you at the Railway Station of Ostend. Coming by car to the Station is also a good starting point to find your way about.
Coming out of the Railway Station in front of you is the center of the town. Immediatly at your left is a Taxi Stand. Also at your left is the Tram Station. The tram will take you to every city or point of interest on the Belgian coast. At a mere thirty paces of the Taxi Stand there are busses that will take you to the town or the outskirts of Ostend.
